Jaguar axes X-Type with 300 jobs

15th July 2009
The luxury car manufacturer Jaguar is planning to stop production of the X-Type their Halewood car plant with a loss of 300 jobs. This move comes as no surprise with sales falling around 28 percent in less than a year and Jaguar must take bold steps to protect itself in this still very volitile economy.

Production levels have been reduced and further job cuts may be on the cards later this year but the full extent of loses will depend on the recovery of the car industry.
