The New BMW X1

The New BMW X1

30th July 2009
BMW will be adding another model to the X series with the launch of the X1, adapting the style of the X3 and X5 into a more compact package. The entry model is the BMW X1 sDrive18d SE, a very efficient diesel engine delivering 54.3 combined miles to the gallon and with CO2 emissions at 136g/km the new X1 looks a very attractive option for the eco friendly motorist. Even if you're not very green minded, the top end X1 xDrive23d SE still has impressive fuel efficiency with 44.8 mpg(combined) and a reasonable CO2 emission of 167g/km.

If it follows the family line the interior quality will be of high standard and capture a good proportion of the market. The X5 has seem tremendous sale figures over the last 10 years, selling over 1.5 million units world wide. Only time will tell if the X1 will enjoy the same success, the X1 hits the showrooms in October 2009.
